Brief Biography of Master Luongta before leaving Lao
Luongta Chanhphy Manivong, a Lao Buddhist Monk, joined the monastery at the age of 10 as a novice. When attaining his 21st birthday, he was ordained as a Buddhist Monk. In his early year , he preferred to travel all over Laos to practise his Kammathana (insight mediatation) and to improve blessing for those seeking his guidance and advice. In Laos, the official Buddhist Authority gave him the title Phra Guru Chanhphy Manivong at the time. He came back from forest after living with his master for 40 years. He himself in 1960 started to build a temple which was named "Wat Phonkok, Ban Chanh-Sa-Art, Ta Sang Bo Oh, Muang Saiphong, Capital of Vientiane, Lao. At that time he also made the MahaKathina 20 sets one time.
Luongta lived in the temple until 15 December 1975. He left the temple and lived in refugee camp number 1/8 located in Nongkhai, Thailand. until 21 June 1981 he came to Australia. Now he got an australian citizen. Luongta had done some good things for Phra Buddha Sasana and he would like to leave all with you.
